Trains in Yekaterinburg

Yekaterinburg is the fourth-largest city in Russia, the largest city in the Ural Federal District and of the biggest railway junctions in Russia. There are many trains in Yekaterinburg. Almost all of them stop at main railway station Yekaterinburg–Passazhirsky, located 2-2.5 km from the city center. The station is a major railway junction on the Trans-Siberian main line and Sverdlovsk Railway.

The Yekaterinburg–Passazhirsky station was twice renowned in 21st century. It is a large station with ticket offices, large waiting rooms (free and paid), luggage lockers, many shops and cafes and city public transport stops close to the station building.

There are twelve railway stations and stops in Yekaterinburg. Closest to the city center is situated Pervomayjska train stop (Первомайская). Suburban trains stop here. Platform is covered, ticket counter and toilet are available. Much better is take bus or tram from the main railway station.

Trains to Yekarerinburg Airport

There are direct trains from Yekaterinburg to Koltsovo Airport. Commuter trains run daily. The platform for electric trains is located 50 meters from the airport exit. Journey time from main station in Yekaterinburg is about 40 minutes. Trains stop also at Pervomayjska station (35 minutes). Passengers who start their journey from Koltsovo Airport station can buy tickets in the train. Tickets at other stations are purchased in ticket offices of OJSC SPK.

The 750 mm narrow-gauge railway is 3.1 km long and operates seasonally. he railway has 3 stations (Yekaterinburg-Detsky, Centralnaya, Yubileinaya) and 2 stops (Solnechnaya, Pionierskaya).
