Graz Hbf train station

Graz Hbf train station is the main railway station in Graz, the capital of the Austrian federal state Styria. It serves S-Bahn, regional, long-distance and international trains. Most famous is the Transalpine train from Graz to Zurich, Switzerland. The station is owned by Austrian Federal Railways and operated by ÖBB Infra.

The first railway station in Graz was opened in 1847. Railway in Austria grew rapidly and the station building was too small. Due to an increase in passenger numbers a larger station was constructed on the same site in 1871-1876. In 1945 the station was completely destroyed during air raids. The current station building was completed in 1956. It was built in the typical style of the 1950s. In 2001 the station was renovated.

Graz Hbf train station is located approximately 2 kilometers from the city centre and main tourist attractions. You can take a walk or ride by tram no 1,4,5,7. Schloss Eggenberg lies 2,5 km from the station on the other side of the city.

Graz Hbf train station is connected with Graz Airport by S-Bahn line S5. Flughhafen Graz-Feldkirchen train station is situated 300 meters from the terminal.
