Egronet ticket – a passenger’s guide

The Egronet network ticket is an excellent offer that allows for affordable travel by public transport throughout the Karlovy Vary Region in the Czech Republic and the German part of the Egrensis Euroregion, which includes parts of Bavaria, Saxony, and Thuringia.

It is a personal one-day ticket, valid until 03:00 a.m. on the day following the date of validity. This means that if you buy a ticket valid for Saturday, your journey must end by 03:00 on Sunday.

Egronet Ticket – Validity

In the Czech Republic, the ticket is valid in 2nd class trains operated by České dráhy and GW Train Regio on railway lines within the Karlovy Vary Region, and on designated sections in neighboring regions. With the ticket, travelers can reach towns such as Karlovy Vary, Cheb, Mariánské Lázně, and charming smaller towns like Kadaň and Loket.

In Germany, the Egronet ticket is valid only on regional trains on designated lines operated by several carriers, including DB Regio Bayern, agilis, DLB OPB, and Erfurter Bahn. With the ticket, for example, you can travel from Cheb to Marktredwitz, and then continue by German regional trains to destinations such as Bayreuth or Plauen.

The ticket is also valid on urban public transport in Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně, Sokolov, Plauen, and Zwickau.

Additionally, the ticket is honored by selected bus operators in both the Czech Republic and Germany. It is valid on routes such as: Cheb – Františkovy Lázně – Aš, Cheb – Mariánské Lázně, Karlovy Vary – Ostrov – Jáchymov, Plauen – Rodewisch and Aue – Schneeberg – Zwickau.

Some museums also offer discounts upon presenting the Egronet ticket.

Egronet Ticket – Prices

The price of the Egronet ticket purchased in the Czech Republic is significantly lower than the price in Germany.

As of 2025, the price structure is as follows:

In the Czech Republic:

Egronet ticket for 1 person: 200 CZK, Each additional person: +100 CZK

Example:

2 persons: 300 CZK
5 persons: 600 CZK

In Germany:

1 person: 30 EUR, each additional person: +8 EUR

Family Travel Information

Up to three children aged 6 to 14 can travel for free with their parents.

Children under 6 travel for free without restrictions.

Bicycle Transport

The ticket includes free bicycle transport, although surcharges may apply on certain routes.

Egronet ticket – where to buy

In the Czech Republic, the ticket can be purchased:

– at ticket offices
– from the conductor (without surcharge) on the day of travel only, and only if the departure station does not have an open ticket office

Advance purchase is not available, and tickets cannot be bought online.
