Warszawa Centralna train station is the largest railway station in Warsaw (Warsaw Central Station). The station was completed in 1975 and refurbished in 2010-2011. It serves regional, long-distance and international trains. It is a large, clean and well-maintained station fully accessible to the disabled people. Sometimes you can get lost, but there are many signs to the main hall and platforms. The station is not beautiful but is a great example and a masterpiece of modernism in Poland and the station is very functional.
Warszawa Centralna is is located in the city centre. Most tourist attractions in Warsaw downtown is situated within walking distance – 15-30 minutes from the station. The Palace of Culture and Science is situated next to the station.
To the west lies Warszawa Śródmieście WKD railway station, the terminus of the WKD suburban light rail line, and to the east lies Warszawa Śródmieście PKP, served by suburban trains run by Koleje Mazowieckie and Szybka Kolej Miejska. Adjacent to the north side of the building is a bus station that serves as the central hub for night bus lines. The nearest metro station is located 300 meters away.
The station has four underground island platforms with eight tracks in total. There are escalators.
Close to the station is Złote Tarasy shopping mall. Nearby you can find many hostels and high-quality hotels, but they are very expensive.
The station is always full of people. There are many shops, fast-foods, cafes, bistros and restaurants.
