Przemysl Glowny train station is the main railway station in the city of Przemyśl, in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland. The medium-sized train station is one of the most beautiful railway station buildings in Europe. The station was opened in 1860. In 2010-2012 the station building underwent major reconstruction.
The station hall is adorned with paintings depicting city panoramas by Marian Stroński, illuminated by an antique wooden chandelier. Interior of the station is stunning.
The station serves regional trains to Rzeszów, many long-distance domestic trains and international passenger trains between Poland and Ukraine. Long-distance trains to Kraków and Wrocław are almost always packed with passengers.
Railway station Przemysl Glowny is located in the city centre. Walk from the train station to the Main Market Square takes 5-10 minutes.
Bus station in Przemyśl is loccated on the other end of the tunnel.
Train station Przemysl Glowny has 5 platforms. There is a separate platform from trains to Ukraine located in the opposite side to the station building. Due to border and custom controls passengers of international trains to Ukraine usually wait 2 hours or longer before they get access to the train. It is uncomfortable during heat and rain. Access to the platform via tunnel. There are no lifts or escalators to the platform so it’s difficult for people with heavy luggage or pram to move between platforms.
