Poznan Glowny train station is the main railway station in the city of Poznań. It is an important railway junction. The station serves regional, long-distance and international trains operated by Polregio, Koleje Wielkopolskie and PKP Intercity. Poznań has train connection with many Polish cities.
Poznan Glowny train station consists of four buildings – modern main building connected with shopping mall, small historic building Poznań Letni (Summer Station), Poznań Zachodni building (Poznań Western) and closed old main station building. An integrated transport hub and shopping centre was opened on 25 October 2013. For tourists most important is main building.
The station is located within walking distance from the city centre. Walk from the train station to the Main Market Square takes 10-15 minutes.
The bus station is situated on the other side of the shopping mall.
There are many tram and bus stops close to the railway station.
The station has 11 platforms. Platforms are covered. Some of them are equipped with lifts and escalators. Moving between platforms is very difficult for people unfamiliar with the station, so if you need to change trains in Poznań, plan at least 10-15 minutes between trains.
