Gdansk Glowny train station is the main railway station in Gdańsk, Poland. The station building was designed by Berlin architects Aleksander Ruedell and Paul Thoemer was built in 1896-1900. In 2023, the major reconstruction of the railway station was completed. It is one of the most beautiful railway stations in Europe. A copy of the Gdańsk main railway station is located in Imari on the island of Kiusiu, Japan. It was built in 1984 by a Japanese businessman Shigemi Joshida and now serves as a wedding palace.
Gdansk Glowny train station is located within walking distance from the most beautiful part of the city of Gdansk. Walk from the train station to the major tourist attractions takes 10-20 minutes.
The station features five island platforms, of which three function for the regional commuter SKM services and the other two for long-distance services and regional services. Access to the platforms is via tunnels from the east and west sides of the city. Platforms are covered.
There is a train to Gdansk Airport. Alternatively you can get to the airport by bus no 210.
Many local, regional and long-distance trains stop at Gdansk Glowny train station. Gdańsk is well-connected with most important Polish cities, especially with Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan and Wroclaw.
