There are four operational funicular railways in Poland. Three of them are located in the south of the country, and the last one was built in Gdynia in northern Poland (Pomeranian Voivodeship). All four funicular railways operate year-round.

Funicular Railway to Mount Żar – a popular funicular railway in Silesian Voivodeship. Construction of the railway was completed at the end of 2003, and in early 2004, the first passengers could ride to the top of Mount Żar. Total length of the route is 1300 meters, and the travel time between the lower and upper stations lasts 5 and a half minutes. A passing loop for the carriages was built halfway up. The railway can transport 1200 people per hour, and it is possible to take a bike or skiing equipment on the funicular. A ride to Mount Żar is worthwhile for the picturesque views from the railway windows and from the mountain’s summit. It is a popular spot among gliding and paragliding enthusiasts.
At the top of the mountain, there is an artificial water reservoir and a pumped-storage power station.

Funicular Railway to Gubałówka – A funicular railway from popular mountain city of Zakopane to Gubałówka peak, built in 1938 and modernized in 2001. The route length is 1307 meters, and the train consists of two carriages, with a passing loop in the middle of the route. The travel time from the lower station to the upper station is 3.5 minutes, and the railway can transport approximately 2000 passengers per hour.
Funicular Railway to Park Mountain – The first funicular railway in Poland, built in 1937 in Krynica-Zdrój, Lesser Poland. The lower station of the railway is located near the Krynica promenade, and the upper station is at the top of Park Mountain. The route length is 642 meters, with a level difference of 148 meters. A passing loop is located halfway up. The railway has two carriages that can hold 50 people each, and the travel time is about 3 minutes. The railway can transport 500 people per hour and operates daily, typically from 10:00 to 19:00.
Funicular Railway to Kamienna Góra – A funicular railway in Gdynia, opened in 2005. A single carriage transports passengers from the lower station at Grunwald Square to Kamienna Góra. The route length is just 96 meters, and the travel time is 2 minutes.
