Bodø train station

Bodø train station is located in the center of the town of Bodø. The station is the terminus of the Nordland Line. The Nordland line from Trondheim to Bodø was completed in 1961. The station was opened the same year for freight traffic. The passenger section was opened on 7 June 1962 – on that day Royal Train with King Olav V arrived from Oslo after 23 hours long journey. The construction of the railway to Bodø. started in 1923 but due to the World Ward II and lack of funds the line was inaugurated almost 40 years later. In 2010 the station building was renovated.

The station is served by day- and night trains to Trondheim and commuter trains to Rognan. Trains are currently operated by SJ Norge. There is no train from Bodø to Narvik.

Railway station in Bodø is situated close to the ferry terminal (150 m).

Bus stop is located next to the station. Buses to the airport stop here every 15 minutes Monday – Friday. Bus station is 500 meters away.

Bodø train station houses a hostel, which was opened after renovation of the building in 2010.
