Train travel in Jordan is possible on two stretches of the former famous Hejazd Railway. Two tourist trains belongs among most popular tourist attractions in the country. Jordan has a railway network but it was used only for freight transport – Aqaba line has been recently closed and I don’t have up-to-date information about traffic.

Wadi Rum tourist train
There are short rides on board of the an authentic Hijaz Railway steam train from the Wadi Rum Visitor Center through the Wadi Rum desert (sometimes the train starts middle of nowhere). The train passes by red sand dunes and actors dressed in period costumes play a reconstruction of the events of the 1916 Arab Great Revolt. The journey usually lasts about 40 minutes and is one-way – passengers are transferred back by jeeps.
You need to reserve you journey in advance when you buy Jordan Pass.
