Poprad-Tatry train station is a break-of-gauge junction station serving the city of Poprad. The station was opened on 8 December 1871, the current station building was completed in 1982. Poprad-Tatry railway station is an important railway junction – regional, long-distance and international trains stop here; the station is also the southern terminus of the metre gauge Tatra Electric Railway.
The station is located at the north western edge of the town centre, within walking distance (5-10 minutes) to pedestrian street. There are many accomodation facilities close to the station.
Next to the station is situated bus station.
The station has 4 platforms. Three of them serve standard-gauge lines, the platform no 4 serves narrow-gauge Tatra Electric Railway. Access to the platform via stairs or escalators. There are also lifts. The station is wheelchair accessible. The Tatra Electric Railway hall is located on the upper floor of the railway station. Platforms are covered.
Tatra Electric Railway tickets must be validated before commencing the journey. Validators are situated at the platform. Narrow-gauge trains are not equipped with toilet.
The station is generally clean and well-maintained but many suspicious people are wandering around.

The city of Poprad lies on the Košice – Žilina railway line (part of the Košice – Bohumín Railway) which forms part of Pan-European Corridor Va. Poprad is well-connected with Bratislava, Košice, Spišská Nová Ves, Žilina, Liptovský Mikuláš (Slovakia) and Ostrava, Olomouc, Pardubice, Prague (Czech Republic). There are regional trains to Stará Ľubovňa via Kežmarok (seasonally extended to Muszyna in Poland) and metre-gauge railway Poprad-Tatry – Štrbské Pleso.
