Trains in Murmansk

Murmansk is a city located in the extreme northwest part of the country, near the borders with Norway and Finland. It holds the distinction of being the largest city in the world situated north of the Arctic Circle. It was founded in 1916 as a key port for supplying the Allied forces during World War I. Despite its remote location, Murmansk is accessible by air, sea, and rail, with regular flights. Trains in Murmansk connect the city with many Russian cities and with Belarus.

There are two railway stations in Murmansk – main railway station and Komsomolsk-Murmansky. The main train station in Murmansk is located in the city center.
